Hans Dockweiler Obituary

Hans Dockweiler died Friday night at 10:20 o'clock at the home of his son John in Moville Township. The cause of death was pneumonia and he had been ill but a week.

Funeral services were conducted by Re. L.N. Moody at the home yesterday afternoon at 1 o'clock. The body was taken to Castana, Iowa, last night night and will be interred today by the side of Mrs. Dockweiler who died over twenty-six years ago.

Since the death of his wife, Mr. Dockweiler had made his home with his children. He came here the day before Thanksgiving and since then had been at the home of his son John.

Hans Dockweiler was born June 11, 1838 in Kropp, Germany, and died near Moville Iowa February 2, 1917, aged 78 years, 7 months, 22 days. He was married to Maria Tolck February 20, 1866, and in the same year they came to America. To them were born thirteen children, five of whom died in infancy.

Deceased is survived by three sons and five daughters, John, of Moville, Iowa; Emil, of Manning, Iowa; Frank, Mrs. Lena Erps, Mrs. Vena Davis, Mrs. Mathhida Bowers, all of Scotland, S.D.; Mrs. Emma Stammer, of Manning, Iowa and Mary Dockweiler of Omaha, Neb.
