March 10, 2012UTE, Iowa -- Aaron Olson, 26, of Ute died Wednesday, March 7, 2012, in Omaha.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ute, with the Rev. Gordon Buchholz officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Armstrong Funeral Home in Ute. Aaron Maynard Olson was born Oct. 9, 1985, at Burgess Health Center in Onawa, Iowa, the son of Craig and Linda (Aronson) Olson. The family was living in Moorhead, Iowa, at that time and soon moved to the Mapleton, Iowa, area, where Aaron grew up with his sister, Nina. He was baptized at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Moorhead in November 1985 and confirmed in 2000 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ute. His formal education was at Charter Oak-Ute School, where he participated in many school programs especially the athletic activities. He graduated with the class of 2004. Later, he enlisted in the the U.S. Air Force and was deployed to Qutar for a period of six months and was later honorably discharged.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ute where in his youth, was an active participant in church-related activities. Aaron was an outdoorsman, who liked to hunt and fish with his buddies. He loved kids and was a very popular guy. Everybody liked Aaron.
Survivors include his mother, Linda Olson of Lake View, Iowa; his sister, Nina Olson and her fiance, Tyler Leitz of Ute; his nephew, Daxton Leitz; his maternal grandparents, Lloyd "Swede" and Carol Aronson of Ute; his stepgrandfather, Neal Gorham of Soldier, Iowa; and many aunts, uncles, cousins; and many good friends.
Aaron was preceded in death by his father, Craig Olson; his paternal grandparents, Maynard Olson and LaQueta Olson Gorham; and one uncle, Randy Olson.
