Henry W. Gosch Jr., age 90, of Ute, died Tuesday, August 15, 1995, in Onawa, Iowa.

Services were held 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ute with Pastor Charles Adams officiating. Burial was in St. Clair Cemetery, Ute. Ruth Owens was the organist for the service and St. Paul’s choir sang, “How Great Thou Art” and the congregation sang “Rock of Ages” and “Abide With Me.”

Henry William Bernhardt Gosch Jr., the son of Henry and Katy (Behrendsen) Gosch was born April 14, 1905 near Ute, Iowa. Henry was united in marriage to Helen Freida Jors on March 21, 1931, at Sioux City, Iowa. The couple farmed in the Ute-Charter Oak area.

Henry was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Ute, Iowa.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Helen; four sons and their wives, Duane and Doris of Wichita, Kansas, Verdus and Dianna of Gilbert, Arizona, Larry and Barb of Sioux City, Iowa, and Donald and Val of Parker, Colorado; five daughters, Marlene and her husband, Al Eaton of Parsons, Kansas, Lois and her husband, Dick Schimmer of Danbury, Iowa, Janet and her husband, Clyde Hill of Omaha, Nebraska, Linda and her husband, Mickey Garrett of Westminster, Colorado, and Karen Shrum of San Angelo, Texas; two brothers, Glenn and his wife, Luella of Harlan, Iowa, and Walter of Schleswig, Iowa; 28 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter Ardis, three brothers and one sister.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Terry Gosch, Todd Gosch, Paul Schimmer, Derek Schimmer, Jim Hill, Steve Hill, Craig Gosch, Erich Gosch, Bill McDonald, Scott McDonald, Jeffery Gosch and Brian Gosch.

Arrangements were made under the direction of the Walter-Armstrong Funeral Home of Ute.
