IOWA, TUESDAY, Aug. 29, 1905

NEWTON - Died at Rodney, July 22, 1905
Mrs. Martha Newton, aged 73 years, 5 months and 18 days.

Martha Barron was born in England. She was married to H. N. Newton Sept, 26, 1853, and came to the United States soon after. Excepting two years spent at Salem, Oregon, she resided in Monona County, Iowa, about thirty years. Mother Newton was the mother of eight children, six of whom, with her husband, remain to mourn their loss. She united with the Seventh-day Adventists about twenty-one years ago, and was one of the most earnest and faithful members of the Smithland church. Words of comfort were spoken by Bro. J.C. Clemens.
