Onawa, Iowa—Allen T. Beaty,63, of Onawa died Sunday November 13, 1988 in a hospital in Onawa after a long illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the United Methodist Church in Onawa with the Rev. David Wagner officiating. Burial will be in the Onawa Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by Monona County Post 2694, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. today in the Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa.

Mr. Beaty was born Sept 26, 1925 in Tekamah, Neb., the son of William “Speck” and Olive (Eckley) Beaty. He attended school in the Tekamah area and served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. On Nov 21, 1946, he married Y’Vonne Harmon at Sioux City. He farmed near Decatur, Nebr. until retiring in 1977 because of poor health. The couple moved to Onawa in June 1988.

Mr. Beaty was a member of American Legion Post 89 of Walthill, Neb. And the Farm Bureau.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Joe of Wakefield, Neb., Jim of Onawa, Larry of Elk Point, S.D., and Garry of Sergeant Bluff; three daughters, Mrs. David (Joyce) Hittle of Decatur, Mrs. Marion (Jackie) Richards of Council Bluffs and Mrs. Jeff (Patty) Hanson of Sioux City; five brothers, Ralph of Huntington, Pa., Bill of Blair, Neb., Dale of Tekamah, Roy of Wakefield and Howard of Portland, Ore.; four sisters, Clara Miller of Tekamah, Mrs. Fred (Dorthea) Patrick of Claycomo, Mo., Viola Metzler of Omaha, and Mrs. Robert (Inez) Liveringhouse of Huntington, Pa.; 13 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter; a brother and a sister.
