June Kathryn Geadelmann was born Jan. 31, 1923, on the family farm, near Onawa, Iowa, to Lawrence and Grace (Richardson) Rodgers. She was the sixth of seven children.

Always showing an interest in her community, June began a career in the Monona County Courthouse, first in other offices, but later in the auditor's office. She came to learn that she had the skills and knowledge to be Monona County auditor and was soon elected to that position, one she held for many years until her retirement. It was there that she developed the respect of the hundreds she served sponsoring long lasting friendships.

She is survived by a son, Robert Letterly (Loann) of Mapleton; daughter Linda Ganion (Gary) of Everett, Wash.; and stepdaughter, Ann Geadelmann of Cedar Falls, Iowa; six grandchildren, Jeffrey Spell (Elizabeth) of Snohomish, Wash., Mark Spell (Amanda) of Mukilteo, Wash., Francesca Letterly of Milwaukee, Wis., Joshua Letterly, Lucas Letterly, and Heather Adams of Renton, Wash.; great-granddaughter, Jessica Spell of Snohomish; special nephews, John (Diane) Reese and Todd (Joni) Reese; other numerous nephews and nieces; and her beloved cat, Bo.

June was preceded in death by husbands, Robert Letterly and Paul Geadelmann; her brothers and sisters, Dr. Maurice Rodgers, Kenneth Rodgers, Bette Rodgers Reese, Evelyn Rodgers Galles, Mardelle Rodgers Holt and Hazel Rodgers Buchanan.

Mother will always be remembered and loved dearly for her kind and gentle nature and her great strength of character.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the ASPCA, the Gospel Mission Holiday Drive in Sioux City, and the Disabled Veterans of Foreign Wars.
