Services for George E. (Colonel) Babb were held a 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 31 at the Dow Funeral Home at Hawarden. The Rev. Herbert Young officiated and burial was at the Oto Cemetery.

Mr. Babb died January 27, 1968 at a nursing home at Hawarden after an illness of nearly 13 months.

He was born July 9, 1883 at Persia, Iowa. He married Rosa Mae Harding October 1, 1906 at Onawa. Mrs. Babb died October 29, 1965. Mr. Babb resided at Grant Center before moving to Hawarden.

Survivors include two sons, Robert M. of Sioux City and George W. of St. Paul, Minnesota; four daughters, Mrs. Russell Christy of Sioux City, Mrs. Maynard Ray of Forest Knolls, California, Mrs. Glen Lund of Port Orchard, Washington and Mrs. Melvin Woodward, 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Dora Zortman of Pierre, South Dakota.

Pallbearers were Clarence Titus, Bill Fouts, Loren Blakely, Rex Persinger, Phillip Nagel and Waldo Lundeen.
