12 September 1985Frank Adams, 78, Turin, Iowa, passed away September 4, 1985 at Burgess Memorial Hospital, Onawa, Iowa, after a long illness.
He was born February 4, 1907, on a farm near Moorhead, Iowa, to John M. and Bessie (Henriksen) Adams. On October 28, 1930, he married Hazel Deal in Sioux City, Iowa. He worked as a mechanic at the John Deere Implement Dealership in Moorhead and moved to Turin in 1938 where he owned and operated Adams Repair. He had been a resident of Pleasant View Nursing Home in Whiting since February 1985.
He was a member of the former Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Moorhead and Eagles Aerie No. 2270 at Onawa.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Gene (Betty) Martindale of Turin and Mrs. Gerald (Linda) Nonnweiler of Omaha, Nebraska; one son, LeRoy D, of San Jose, California; one sister, Mrs. Helen Miller of Schleswig; 14 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Arnold.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 1985 at the United Methodist Church, Turin, Iowa with Rev. Hugh Bird and Elder Wilbur Mann officiating. The organist, Mrs. Jack Jordan, played, “What A Friend” and “Jesus, Lover of My Soul”.
Casket bearers were Everett Nagel, Myrland Clemon, Dale Knoff, Jess Phipps, Harvey Hanson and William Mathison, Jr.
Interment was in the Belvidere Cemetery, Turing, Iowa, with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
