Helen E Alfredson

Helen E. Alfredson was born May 31, 1916 at Pisgah, Iowa and passed from this life at the Burgess Memorial Hospital on March 25, 1977 after a long illness.

Helen was the daughter of Adolph and Bessie Rolph.

She was a graduate of the Blencoe High School in 1934 and for many years worked in Onawa at the Lupton Drug Store, Berry Lumber Company and the Monona County Assessors Office. On July 11, 1963 she was united in marriage with Emil Alfredson.

The survivors include her husband, Emil; one son Gary Smith of Connell, Washington; one daughter, Claire Thrift, Minneapolis, Minnesota. A step-son Jack Alfredson of Rochester, Minnesota and a step-daughter, Carol Sue Spetman, Council Bluffs, Iowa, two brothers, Earl Rolph of Onawa, Dolphus Rolph of Oakland, Iowa. Two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Daisy) Swesey, Sr., Missouri Valley, Iowa and Mrs. Nellie Scholes, Sioux City, Iowa. There are fifteen grandchildren and other relatives also surviving. She will be greatly missed by her family and loved ones who knew her.

Services were Monday, March 28, 1977 at 1”30 p.m. at the Pearson Funeral Chapel, Onawa, Iowa with Rev. Everett Epperson officiating. The organist was Clary Kelley.

Bearers were Royce Rolph, Gordon Rolph, Murril Griffith, Bernard Farber, Paul Phillips and Harold Swesey.

Interment was in Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home of Onawa, Iowa.
