BLENCOE, Iowa -- Norman Huff, 72, Blencoe passed away Friday, Sept. 3, 2010, at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting, Iowa, after a nine-year battle with Parkinson's Disease.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, Iowa, with the Rev. Roy Christman officiating. Burial will be in Onawa Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Norman was born July 24, 1938, in Sioux City, the son of Raymond and Bernadine (Brunker) Huff. He was raised and had lived his entire life on the family farm in Blencoe. He graduated from Blencoe High School in 1956 and started his career of farming. He also was a crop adjuster for Farm Bureau for 25 years.

Norman and Patty Shook were united in marriage on July 10, 1960, at Onawa, and enjoyed 50 years together on Norman's family farm. Three children were born to this union. The family have had many memorable experiences, especially camping over 45 years. He also enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his grandsons.

Norman was affiliated with Blencoe United Church of Christ. He was a past 4-H member and leader, a past president and 30-year member of the Monona County Fair Board, a founding member of Classic Car Club, a judge for International Car Association and show chairman for the Sioux City ISCA car show.

Survivors include his wife, Patty of Blencoe; two sons, Mike Huff and Krista Fleming of Blencoe, and Randy Huff of Banks, Ore.; a daughter, Debbie Goodmanson of Cottage Grove, Minn.; and five grandsons, Auston, Nathan and Jacob Huff and Blake and Brandon Goodmanson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and parents-in-law, Herb and Freda Shook.
