Charles Walter Seaman 1892-1950

Charley W. Seaman, son of Douglas and Ada (Ross) Seaman was born on a farm west of Whiting, Iowa, Aug. 7, 1892, and passed from this life March 26, 1950, being at the time of death 67 years, 7 months and 18 days old. He was the youngest of three children by this marriage. One sister, Lillian (Seaman) Mallory passed away January 1921.

He is survived by his widow, Mabel (Fletcher), three children, Mrs. Robert (Julia) Jennings, Des Moines, IA. Merle Seaman, Whiting, IA., Mrs. Lloyd (Gladys) Mann of Moorhead, IA; one sister Mrs. Ora (Adele) Easton, Selah, Wash.; two half sisters, Mrs. Mable Doyle, Rockford, Ill., and Mrs. Harold (Geraldine) Brundidge, Turin, IA.; also three half brothers, Ross and Watson Willey of Onawa and Albert Seaman of Chicago, Ill.; six grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. He spent most of his life around Whiting, Iowa with the exception of two years spent on a homestead in Colorado.

He passed away at the Onawa hospital being sick only a short time.

He was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and neighbor, always ready and willing to help anyone.

Funeral services were held at the Christian church at Whiting, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Knowles officiating. Burial was in the Harrison cemetery, under the direction of Woods Funeral Home.
