DANBURY, Iowa -- Andrew C. Hinrickson, 73, of Danbury died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove, Iowa.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton, Iowa, with the Rev. Len Garrison officiating. Burial will be in the Jordan Township Cemetery, rural Soldier, Iowa. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time Friday at funeral home.

Andrew Clyde Hinrickson was born July 3, 1936, at Castana, Iowa, the son of Clyde Andrew and Maxine (Hanks) Hinrickson. He grew up in the Castana and Mapleton, Iowa, area, graduating from Castana High School. He later lived in Texas and South Dakota. He was known for being a hard working man, primarily in road construction, having worked the last 12 years for Monarch Oil.

He married Nevada Mills June 14, 2003, and the couple made their home in Danbury. Nevada died May 23, 2009.

He loved fishing, camping or any activity that kept him outdoors. He also was talented in working with his hands, especially woodworking. Above all, came the pleasure he found in time spent with his family.

Survivors include his mother, Maxine of Mapleton, Iowa; four sons, Mark and his wife, Camille of Sioux Falls, S.D., Brian of South Dakota, Clyde and his wife, Carol of Tea, S.D., and Steven of South Dakota; two daughters, Maria and Candy; four sisters, Mary, Maxine, Ruby and her husband, Bob, and Pearl and her husband, Richard; two brothers, Ronnie and Charlie and his wife, Barb; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; stepgrandson, Dustin Alan Ladd; stepchildren, Charles Mills, Valarie Ladd, Dudley Ladd, Oliver Ladd, Jason Ladd, Tim Ladd, and Trixie Ladd; along with numerous other relatives and many good friends.

Along with his wife, Nevada, Andrew was preceded in death by his father, Clyde; and a brother, Lester
