18 February 2010MAPLETON, Iowa -- Wanda A. Zediker, 92, of Mapleton died Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John's United Methodist Church in Mapleton, with Pastor Karen Garrison officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Mapleton. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Friday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton.
Wanda Anna (Cameron) Zediker was born Oct. 13, 1917, at home in Monona County, the daughter of Howard and Anna E. (Nourse) Cameron. She grew up and received her education in the Mapleton area, graduating from Mapleton High School in 1936.
She was united in marriage to Maurice K. Zediker on Oct. 21, 1936, at Gilmore City, Iowa. They farmed until they moved in to Mapleton in 1973. The couple wintered in Arizona until Maurice's death May 14, 2001.
Wanda was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church of Mapleton. She belonged to the Mapleton Community Club, the Republican Women and was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She worked at the A.S.C.S. Office of Onawa, Iowa, for several years as well as serving as a Mary Kay representative.
Survivors include three sons, Gary (Kay) Zediker of Cushing, Iowa, Keith (Donna) Zediker of Mapleton and David (Liane) Zediker of Volin, S.D.; 11 grandchildren, Michele Zediker Galassini of Erie, Colo., Emmett Zediker of Richmond, Calif., Michael Zediker of Aurora, Colo., Deb Zediker of Denver, Colo., Steve Zediker of Parker, Colo., Greg Zediker of Ferndale, Wash., Cori Tonjes, Cari Zediker and Quin Olander all of Sioux Falls, S.D., Jennifer In-Albon of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Lilly Trawick of Volin; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Along with her husband, Maurice, Wanda was preceded in death by her parents.
