ONAWA, Iowa -- Frances F. Kenley, 96, Whiting, Iowa, formerly of Onawa, passed away Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, at Pleasant View Care Center at Whiting.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Rush Family Care Service at Onawa, with the Rev. Todd Owen officiating. Burial will be in Heisler Cemetery at Mapleton, Iowa. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Frances was born July 25, 1913, in Mapleton, Iowa, the daughter of Lewis and Charlotte (Heisler) Zediker. She was raised in the Mapleton area.

Frances and James "Jim" Kenley were united in marriage on Nov. 3, 1945, at Onawa.The couple made their home in Sioux City, Missouri, Battle Creek, Iowa, and Omaha. Jim passed away July 22, 1962, at Sioux City. Frances enjoyed spending time with her sisters. She and Mary lived together in Las Vegas for 18 years before retiring to Onawa in 1984. After Mary's death, Frances lived with her sister, Allie, until they entered Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Dennis James and Renne Kenley of Aurora, Colo.; two grandsons, Dennis James Kenley Jr. of Aurora and Dean Kenley of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and four great-grandchildren, Michaela, Rachel, Alexander and Christopher.

In addition to her husband, Jim, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Harry, Orville, Roy and William; and her sisters, Edith in infancy, Mary Daniels and Allie Bouslaugh.
