ONAWA, Iowa -- Gladys E. Kelley, 100, of Onawa died Friday, April 9, 2004, at Burgess Health Center in Onawa.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, with the Rev. Carla Ingebritsen officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery at Blencoe, Iowa. Visitation with the family present will be noon to 2 p.m. Monday, prior to services.

Gladys was born Dec. 7, 1903 in Little Sioux, Iowa, the daughter of Bert and Ada (Grey) Shearer.

In 1920, she married Irving J. Gleason. The couple farmed in the Little Sioux area before moving to Rochelle, Ill., where Gladys worked in a cannery. Later, Gladys returned to the Little Sioux area and married Cecil Kelley in 1951 before moving to Onawa.

Gladys was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Onawa.

Survivors include her brother, Jess, and his wife, Harryet Shearer, of Little Sioux; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; a daughter, Marie Lauritsen; a son, Irving Gleason Jr.; two sisters, Vernie Daugherty and Bertha Flint; a brother, Alfred Shearer; and a grandson, Garry Gleason.
