ONAWA, Iowa -- Mary K. Hopkins, 95, of Onawa died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at Elmwood Care Centre in Onawa.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Graceland Cemetery, Blencoe, Iowa, with the Rev. John Noer officiating. Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.

Mary Kathryn was born Dec. 8, 1908, in Winside, Neb., the daughter of Alvin M. "Manny" and Adlinda (Miller) Hyatt.

She married Frank Kellogg Hopkins on Sept. 30, 1925, in Carroll, Iowa. The couple farmed in the Oto, Blencoe, Onawa and Castana, Iowa areas before moving to Foley, Minn., in 1957. They farmed there until 1972, when they retired and moved to Onawa. Frank passed away March 27, 1979, in Onawa.

She cooked at the Danbury (Iowa) Public School. She enjoyed ceramics, quilting, crocheting, playing cards, cribbage and dominos.

Survivors include two sons, James B. (Jeri) Hopkins of Onawa and Steven L. (Lari) Hopkins of LaGrange, Texas; three daughters, Janis N. (Richard) Friedrichsen of New Hope, Minn., Margaret L. (Fred) Iburg of Hickman, Neb., and Karen J. (Joe) Krula of Blencoe, Iowa; a son-in-law, Robert "Bob" Mackey of Millbrae, Calif.; a daughter-in-law, Madelyn Hopkins of LaGrange, Texas; 31 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Burtis E. Hyatt of Waubun, Minn.; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Frank W. "Billy" Hopkins and Gordon R. "Gus" Hopkins; a daughter, Joyce A. Mackey; a brother, Alvin "Boss" Hyatt; three sisters, Irene Heisler Carlson, Rita Seaton Mansfield and Clarice "Babe" Davis; and a granddaughter, Tiffany E. Grant.

Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren, (Jim Hopkins' children) Jimmy Hopkins, Mary Parr, Vicki Mitchell, Janelle Anderson and Jill Lyda; (Gus Hopkins' children) Bobby Larkin, Deb Crowe, Kathy Bradley, Lisa Hopkins, Jim Mings, Bill Mings, Lari Hopkins and Dan Mings; (Joyce Mackey's children) Gayle George and Robby Mackey; (Jan Friedrichsen's children) Terri Walker, Barbara Kinsmith, Rick Friedrichsen and Shari Friedrichsen; (Marge Iburg's children) Sandi Matthes, Sue Brinkman, Dianne Allen, Mike Iburg and Denny Iburg; (Karen Krula's children) Bill Krula and Joey Krula; and (Steve Hopkins' children) Sheila Reichard, Stephanie Tadych, Willie Hopkins, Jessica Hopkins and Becca Hopkins.
