Violet Kline Thompson was born in Dunlap on July 16, 1896 and passed from this life in the Horn Memorial Hospital at Ida Grove on December 27. Death came at the age of 72 years, 5 months, 11 days.

She was united in marriage with Frank K. Voss on December 1, 1915 at Pisgah. He preceded her in death just a few years later.

January 17, 1927 she was united in marriage with Nel G. Thompson at Council Bluffs. They made their home on a farm west of Soldier until 1964, at which time they moved into Onawa.

Early in life she accepted the Christ as her Savior and was united with the Christian Church in Moorhead, moving her membership to the First Christian Church in Onawa in June 1964.

Mrs. Thompson was a very faithful member of the church and found her greatest joy in being in the house of the Lord in worship and in helping others.

Survivors include her husband, Nel; two sons, Franklin Voss of Lincoln, Nebr. and Elmer Thompson of Omaha, Nebr.; five daughters, Mrs. Walter (Emma) Thies of Dunlap, Mrs. Leo (Virginia) Carlson of Onawa, Mrs. Lester (Colleen) Vohs of Galva, Mrs. George (Delores) Leonard of Holstein and Mrs. Wilbert (Carol) Dose of Danbury; 27 grandchildren and four great- grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Kline of Turin; two sisters, Mrs. Everett Hinkle of Turin and Mrs. John Hinkle Jr. of Mondamin.

Besides Mr. Voss, she was preceded in death by a daughter, LaVonne and two brothers, Edwin and Stanley Kline.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 30 at the First Christian Church in Onawa. Rev. Everett Epperson and Rev. Beryl Hicks officiated. Beryl and Janice Hicks sang “Beyond the Sunset” and “When the Roll is Called Up Yonder.” They were accompanied by Jane Reynolds.

Casket bearers were Kenneth Kline, John A Hinkel, Myrlin Lee, Larry Hinkel, Earl Hinkel and Keith Hinkel. Interment was in the Magnolia Cemetery at Magnolia. Arrangements were by Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa.
