Moorhead, Iowa—Robert H Melby, 53, of Moorhead, died Saturday at an Onawa Hospital after a sudden illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Soldier Lutheran Church in Soldier. The Rev William Carter will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Pearson Funeral Home in Soldier.

Mr. Melby was born May 14, 1924 in Moorhead. He married Marian Carrigan Sept. 19, 1944 in Soldier. He was a lifetime area farmer and a member of Soldier Lutheran Church.

Survivors include the widow; three sons, Robert Eugene of Mechanicburg, Penn and Vernon and Rick, both of Moorhead; a daughter, Tina Marie at home; two grandchildren; five brothers, Raymond of Le Mars, Earl of Moorhead, Norman of Soldier and Clark and Wilbur, both of Dunlap and a sister, Mrs. Harry (Ella) Sehlensig of Soldier.
