Mapleton, Iowa—Lillian J. Kuhlman, 72, of Mapleton died Monday, January 3, 2000 at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mapleton with the Rev. Edmund Tiedeman officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a rosary at 3:30 p.m. said by St. Mary’s Guild and a vigil wake service at 7 p.m. at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton.

Mrs. Kuhlman was born October 9, 1927 in Mapleton, the daughter of Rufus and Jeffie (Chamberlain) Joslin. She graduated from Mapleton High School in 1946.

She married Fred W. Kuhlman on June 18, 1955.

She was employed with North-Western Telephone Co. for 25 years and then with Dr. Ganzhorn for 25 years.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where she played the organ. She was also a member of St. Mary’s Guild and American Legion Auxiliary Loren Hollister Post 496 of Mapleton. She enjoyed crafts and music.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mary Fokken of Humboldt, Iowa and Nancy Dean of Quimby, Iowa; three grandchildren, Kristen, Bryce, and Sabrina; a niece and a nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Carolyn Stadler; a brother, Evan Joslin; and nieces and nephews.
