The funeral for the Rev. Dennis H. Armstrong, 62, of Council Bluffs, was held Saturday, November 30, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Twin Cities Christian Church., South Omaha Bridge Road, with Duane King, Minister of Deaf Missions officiating.

Mr. Armstrong died November 26, 2002 at his home in Council Bluffs.

He was born July 25, 1940, in Onawa to George L. Armstrong and Mabel Dinwiddie. He graduated in 1958 from Onawa High School and in 1965 from Nebraska Christian College in Norfolk, NE. He began his career as an ordained minister in Chadron, NE. He also served as minister in Omaha, Memphis, Tn and St Louis, MO, before moving to Council Bluffs in 1992. He was minister of Twin Cities Christian Church. He belonged to the Council Bluffs Ministerial Association and taught in the Boot Strap program at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Mr. Armstrong and his wife, Mabelle L. (Maika) were married December 29, 1962.

Survivors in addition to his wife include one son, Michael C. Armstrong, of Council Bluffs; mother, Mable Armstrong, of Onawa; one sister, Georgene Ravnsborg of Denver, CO: nieces and nephews.

Visitation was from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Cremation followed the services. Burial of ashes will be at the Onawa Cemetery at a later date. Cutler-O”Neill-Meyer Woodring Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be offered to Twin Cities Christian Church Building Fund.
