Heart Attack Fatal to Richard Olson

This community was shocked and saddened upon learning of the sudden death of Richard Olson about noon last Wednesday following a heart attack. He had been under the doctor’s care for some time but had never been confined to bed. He was at work as usual at the Park Moorhead farms where he was employed, when stricken.

Obituary

Richard Olson, son of Christopher and Karoline Olson, was born in Soldier Township on January 26, 1892 and departed this life Wednesday, April 10, 1957 at the age of 64 years, 2 months and 16 days.

On June 4, 1938 he was united in marriage to Gladys Swenson.

Mr. Olson was a communicant of the Soldier Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys; two daughters, Mrs. Frank Wilson of Denison and Peggy Rae at home; two sisters, Mrs. Carl Kaatz of Soldier and Mrs. Glenn Johnson of Oak Park, Illinois; three brothers, Alex of Dallas, Texas; Tingval of Soldier and Alfred of Carroll; two grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Soldier Lutheran Church. Pastor John Kilde officiating.

Interment was in the church cemetery under the direction of the Oldham Funeral Home of Soldier.
