Stanley Paul Wiksell, 78, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Sunday, December 31, 2001 at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline, Illinois.

He was born July 31, 1922, in Sloan, Iowa, the son of Nels and Alice (Lundberg) Wiksell. He graduated from the Whiting (Iowa) High School and attended the University of Missouri, Columbia. He began his career in 1947 with the U.S. government in Sioux City, Iowa, retiring in 1984 with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, completing 37 years of federal service. In October 1982 he married Helen M Case Bridges in Columbia, MO.

He was a member of Full Gospel Businessman’s Fellowship International Quint City Chapter 510. Stan had served in ministry for 56 years. He pastured six Assembly of God churches in Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota.

Survivors include his wife, Helen; four daughters and sons-in-law, Linnae and Fred Burleson of Colorado Springs, CO., Beverly and Doug Corbett and Nancee and Tim Zart, all of Springfield, MO. and Melody and Rod Dean of Temperance, MI; two sons and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Carol Wiksell of Des Moines, Iowa and Lon and Fran Wiksell of Overland, KS; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ruby McFarland of Whiting, Iowa and Janet Dearsdorff of Tuscon, AZ.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Florence and Gladys; and two brothers, David and Wesley.

Graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2001 at Fairview Cemetery at Sloan, Iowa with Rev. Earl O. Miller officiating. Casket bearers were Larry Nelson, Clayton Cooper, Christopher Cooper, Monte Wiksell, Roger Wiksell and Stephen Nelson.

Interment was in Fairview Cemetery at Sloan.
