Harriett Eva Knoff was born in Castana, Iowa on May 10, 1896 and passed from this life in the Elmwood Home in Onawa, Iowa on October 21, 1983. Death came following a long illness; she had reached the age of 87 years.

On September 22, 1913, she was united in marriage with Peter Gustav Knoff in the First Christian Church in Onawa. To this union two children were born, one daughter and one son. Mr. Knoff preceded her in death August 26, 1979.

Mrs. Knoff and her husband Peter were life long residents of Monona County, serving as farmers in the Castana area. She became a resident of the Elmwood Home in Onawa in 1974.

Her family and many friends will always remember her as a loving and considerate person. The love she had for her garden of flowers and good things for the will never be forgotten.

Survivors include her one daughter, Mrs. Earl (Sharon) Carroll of Greenfield, Iowa; her one son, Serling (Bus) Knoff of Albuquerque, New Mexico; three grandchildren; a number of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and four sisters.

Services were held at 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday 25, 1983 at the Pearson Funeral Chapel in Onawa with Rev. Everett Epperson officiating. Mrs. Paul Petersen, the organist, accompanied Mrs. Harvey Hanson and Mrs. Brady Hanson who sang “In the Garden” and “Beyond the Sunset”.

Bearers were Dale Knoff, Howard Nielsen, Maurice Jensen, Beecher Lamb, Everett Knoff and Carl Moore.

Interment was in Kennebec Cemetery at Castana with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
