ONAWA, Iowa -- Freda Lucille Lundeen, 94, Onawa, Iowa died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at Burgess Health Center at Onawa.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Onawa United Methodist Church, with Rev. Angela Gafford Asmus officiating. Burial will be in Little Sioux Township Cemetery at Smithland, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service at Onawa.

Freda Lucille was born April 16, 1915, at Ticonic, Iowa, the daughter of Claude and Estella (Jenkins) Miller. She was raised in the Ticonic and Smithland area and graduated from Smithland High School In 1933.

Freda and Waldo Lundeen were united in marriage Sept. 30, 1933 at Onawa. The couple farmed near Grant Center, Iowa, until they moved to Onawa in 1980. Waldo passed away Oct. 18, 2002.

Freda was a member of Onawa United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women at both Ticonic and Onawa. She was a devoted farm wife and mother and enjoyed gardening, flowers, baking, sewing, embroidering and collecting spoons and bells. Her family will always remember her delicious canned pickles, jellies and apple butter.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Larry and Candace Lundeen of Plymouth, Minn.; two daughters, Marlene Knoff of Castana, Iowa, and Sheryl and her husband Larry Pixler of Arvada, Colo.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-stepgrandchildren; a great-great-grandson; six great-great-stepgrandchildren; a brother, Keith and his wife Alice Miller of Mapleton, Iowa; and a sister, Carol Hewitt of Sioux City.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Dale Knoff; a great-grandson, Diego LaBriola; two brothers, LeRoy and Russell Miller; and four sisters, Elizabeth Nutt, Wilma Johnson, Bethine Morse and Jeannine Clemon.

Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 2, 2009 at Onawa United Methodist Church with Rev. Angela Gafford Asmus officiating. Music selections were "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In The Garden" with Barry Dumond, soloist. Casket bearers were Kevin Knoff, Jeffrey Pixler, Terry Trube, Roger Nemitz, Tom Petersen and Austin Knoff.

Ruth Jordan was the organist. Burial was in the Little Sioux Township Cemetery at Smithland, Iowa. Arrangements were under the direction of Rush Family Care Services in Onawa,Iowa.
