Mrs. Alva May Lockwood, a resident of the
Monterey Peninsula for the past 16 years, died yesterday afternoon in the Monterey Hospital
following an extended illness.

Mrs.Lockwood was born Nov 25 1897 in Macedonia,
Iowa, daughter of Charles and Mary Alice(Ashley)
Allen. Her marriage to Douglas J Lockwood took
place Nov 25 1908 in Whiting, IA.

In addition to her husband, Mrs.Lockwood leaves
four sons, Charles Lockwood of Seaside, CA; James
Lockwood of Marina, CA; Walter Lockwood of Orange,
CA;and Frank Lockwood of Del Rey Oaks, CA; and
three daughters, Gladys Ross of So. San Francisco,
CA.;Gail Szafran of Marina, CA; and Mary Hlavachek
of Monterey; two brothers, Earl Allen of Turin,IA,
and Marion Allen of Onawa,IA; two sisters, Verna
Tacy of Council Bluffs, IA, and Blanche Taylor of
Onawa, IA; 19 grandchildren and 18 great grand-children. Burial will take place at Mission Memorial Park, Seaside, CA.
