Memorial services for Helen Eleanor Surber, 79, of Davenport, Iowa were held on Saturday, January 6, 2001 at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary in Davenport.

Burial was at Rock Island National Cemetery in Rock Island, Illinois.

Helen died on Tuesday, January 2, 2001 at Trinity North, Davenport. Helen Larson was born on October 29, 1921 in Soldier, Iowa, the daughter of Floyd and Gertrude (Oriet) Larson. Helen married Alfred Surber in 1937 in Omaha, Ne. He preceded her in death in 1975. Helen worked as a surical assistant at St. Anthony’s Hospital, Rock Island for 8 years and St. Lukes Hospital in Davenport for 15 years retiring in 1978.

Survivors include three daughters, Judith Langtimm of Davenport, Joan Speer of Natchitoches, La. and Nancy Speer of Blue Grass; and a son, James Surber of Florida; nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two sisters, Mabel Nelson of Soldier and Vera Mae Vanderhoff of Chino, Ca.
