ONAWA, Iowa -- Wilbur D. Cutler, 73, of Onawa died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002, at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting, Iowa.

Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Friday at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, followed by graveside services in Harrison Cemetery, Whiting. Military rites will be conducted by the U.S. Army.

Wilbur was born Sept. 25, 1929, in Onawa, the son of Merle and Lela (Zortman) Cutler. He was raised in Onawa and graduated from Onawa High School in May 1947.

He married Ruth Beedle in January 1949. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1954, then returned to Onawa. He married Lorie Mancera in May 1993. He was a farmer, mechanic and carpenter in the Onawa area.

He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 915 in Elk Point, S.D.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Rod and Alice Cutler of Hudson, Colo.; three daughters, Julie and her husband, Mark Brandt, of Windsor, Colo., Reva Bily of Omaha and Cindy Hammer of Onawa; six grandchildren; two sisters and their husbands, M. Joanne and William Torrey of Superior, Wis., and Janis and Ralph Alexander of Smithland, Iowa; and a sister-in-law, Karen Heidman of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Linda; and a brother, Daniel.
