Anna L Christensen Thayer was born January 28, 1888, in Sioux City, Iowa and passed from this life in the New Horizon Care Center in Sioux City on December 4, 1981. Death came at the age of 93 years.

On July 23, 1904, she was united in marriage with Charles Thayer in Onawa, Iowa. Mr. Thayer preceded her in death 28 years ago. She was a life time resident of the Sioux City area, 29 years were spent in the Whiting, Castana and Turin area. The last four years she has lived in Sioux City.

Early in life she was baptized in the Lutheran faith: for years she attended the Methodist Church. Mrs. Thayer was a good Christian woman. She very much appreciated her family and those who remembered her latter years. Her many friends and those who cared for her loved her and looked forward to visiting with her.

Survivors include her three sons: Lewis in Wentworth, SD, William in Sheldon, Iowa and Glen in Omaha, Nebr.: two daughters: Mrs. Clarence (Genevieve) Bond in Onawa and Mrs. Bud (Doris) Pixler of Bronson, Iowa: there are 17 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 7, 1981 at the Pearson Funeral Chapel, Onawa, Iowa, with Rev Everett Epperson officiating. The organist was Mrs. Robert Oehler and the soloist, Mrs. Fred Gibson, sang, “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Beyond The Sunset”.

Casket bearers were Walter Harsh, Merle Shaffer, Emil Olson, Watson Davis, Carl Richardson and Lloyd Benson.

Interment was in the Jordan Cemetery, Soldier, Iowa, with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
