Mrs. Tadlock Is Taken By Death
Funeral Services Will Be Held Here Saturday for Monona Co. Pioneer

Funeral services for Mrs. Ida May Tadlock of Smithland, 70 year old pioneer Monona County resident, will be held here Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Methodist church with Rev. George A. Osborn in charge.

Interment will be in Mt. Hope cemetery in Mapleton under direction of the Byers Funeral home.

Mrs. Tadlock, who lived in the Mapleton community most of her life before moving to Smithland several years ago, died early Wednesday morning of heart trouble in St. Joseph’s hospital in Sioux City where she was taken Sunday.

She had been in ill health for several years.

Ida May Jackson was born September 24, 1878 in Mapleton. She was married January 17, 1898, to Timothy Tadlock in Sioux City.

To this union 5 children were born.

Her husband preceded her in death. He farmed in this community for many years.

Mrs. Tadlock was a member of the Methodist Church.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Mrs. Esther Lent of Smithland, Mrs. Ethel VanVlack of Kohoka, Mo. and Mrs. Wilma Kafton of Castana, 2 sons, Floyd of Alliance, Neb and Leonard of Mapleton; 2 sisters, Mrs. Olive Slentz of Oto and Mrs. Alice Smith of Oto; 2 brothers, Charles Jackson of Oto and Gordon Jackson of Springfield, Ore. 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
