Patricia L. Miller, 61, Soldier, passed away at Burgess Health Center in Onawa, Iowa on August 30 , 2009.

Patricia was born January 17, 1948, at home in the country, Soldier, Iowa, the daughter of Gordon Bruce and Ruth Amanda (Jensen) Clemon. She was raised in the Soldier area and attended Soldier and then East Monona Schools.

Patti & Jim Gray were united in marriage on March 31, 1967, in Soldier. To this union two daughters were born, Rebecca (Gray) Gangestad and Kerri (Gray) Davis.

Pattie and Ronnie Miller were united in marriage on January 4, 1976. They made their home in Soldier and were married 29 years.

Patti was a homemaker; worked as a waitress at Ruth’s Diner, worked at Something Special in Dunlap, lovingly babysat her grandkids, nieces and nephews and her last job was as a teacher aide at Charter-Oak-Ute School, which was very special to her.

Survivors include her children, Rebecca and Willy Gangestad and Kerri and Chet Davis, four grandchildren, Molly Gangestad, Sarah Frank, Megan Gangestad and Jennifer Frank all of Soldier, Iowa. A sister Barbara Johnson and her husband Tony; a brother, Mike Clemon and a sister-in-law Vicki Clemon all of Soldier. Nieces Beth Johnson and special friends, Kelly, Heather DeLance and family, a nephew Clint Clemon and family, and nieces Tara Clemon and family and Krystal Sanderson and family and many more extended family and wonderful friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Dennis Clemon, and a niece Amanda (Clemon) Pulkrabek.

Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at Soldier Lutheran Church in Soldier with Pastor Meggan Manlove officiating. Music selections were “Holes in the Floor of Heaven”, Processional; “Address in the Star’s”, Peace In The Valley”. Darren Goslar, soloist and “In My Daughter’s Eyes”. Recessional, Jean Dommer was pianist, Burial was in Soldier Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation was 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Arrangemets were under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.

Casket bearers were Clinton Clemon. A.J. Wright, Lonnie Sanderson, Jeff Gray, Marvin Shaffer, Bob Woodward and Herschel Roach. Honorary bearers were Dwight Evers, Jim Lintin, John Larson, Tim Delance, Tony Johnson, Joe Weverka and Walker Carrigan.
