Dorothy Edna Queen, 90, of Soldier, Iowa, died Wednesday, April 1, 1998, at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting, Iowa.

Mrs. Queen was born December 15, 1907, rural Whiting, Iowa, the daughter of Elmer G and Myrtle (Fegenbush) Clark. She graduated from Whiting High School. On May 19, 1934, she married Howard Melvin Queen in Sioux City, Iowa. To this union two children, Norman R and Charlotte, were born. The couple made their home at Sloan for a few years before moving to Soldier in 1943. Mr Queen died November 3, 1966 at Onawa, Iowa. She continued to live at Soldier until entering Pleasant View Care Center in October 1991.

She was a member of First Christian Church in Onawa and the Jordan Birthday club. She loved to garden and to be in the outdoors.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Norman R and Joyce Queen of Soldier; a daughter and her husband, Charlotte and Bill Lee of Sebring, Florida; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Mildred an infant sister; two brothers, Floyd and Kenneth; one infant brother and one great grandson, Jacob.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday April 6, 1998 at the First Christian Church in Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Donald R Ludwick officiating. The organist was Mrs Vince Phillips. The soloist, Daneen Lee, accompanied by Mrs. Conni Anderson, sang, "In The Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross".

Casket bearers were Daneen Lee, Debbie Queen, Noreen Miller, Kerri Shearer, Jerry Queen, and Bobby Queen.

Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home Onawa, Iowa
