Harry Olson, Sloan, Iowa passed away Monday, August 10, 1970 at the Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa after a brief illness. He was 68 years, 8 days of age.

Born August 2, 1902 at Sloan, Iowa the son of George and Mary Johnson Olson, Harry had been a life long resident of this his home area.

On April 14, 1934 at Onawa, Harry married Edna Friis. They have made their home together in Sloan for the past 34 years. He also had been employed in several other working situations which gained him many of his friends in life. He was a member of the Skein Lutheran Church of Albaton.

Harry is survived by his wife, Edna of Sloan; one son, Robert Friis of Sloan; two daughters, Mrs. Lee (Mary) Worrell, Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Mrs. Vertis (Jeanne) Paulsen, Sioux City, Iowa; 5 sisters, Mrs. Dwight (Grace) Swanson of Sloan, Mrs. Carrie Solien of Sloan, Mrs. Harland (Alice) Thompson of Council Bluffs, Mrs. Paul I (June) Hughey of Sloan, Mrs. John (Mabel) Jacobson of Odebolt; 2 brothers G. Elliot Olson of Sloan, and Robert Olson of Bell, California; and eleven grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 12, 1970, at 2:00 p.m. at the Skein Lutheran Church of Albaton, Iowa with burial next to the church in Fairview Cemetery. Selections were sung by Mrs Donald Peterson soloist and accompanied by the orgaist, Mrs. Ernest Olson. Bearers were Mike Worrell, Larry Olson, Leland Olson, Mike Friis, Jeff Paulsen and Randall Cass. Mr. Olson's services were under the direction of the Wood Funeral Home of Sloan, Iowa
