Ute, Iowa-- Margaret C Torgerson, 80, of Ute, died Thursday at the Onawa hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St Mary's Catholic Church in Ute, with the Rev. William Wingert officiating. Burial will be in St Clair Cemetery at Ute. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a vigil prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the Walter-Armstrong Funeral Home in Ute.

Mrs. Torgerson was born Jan. 5, 1911, at Ute, the daughter of Daniel and Margaret (Higgins) Hartigan. She married Marion C Torgerson Jan. 24, 1934, at Ute. He died June 23, 1945. She lived all her life in the Ute community until moving to the Willow Dale Care Center in Battle Creek, Iowa in 1988.

She was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church, the Rosary Society and the Ute Senior Citizens.

Survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Carol and Lloyd Aronson and Marlene and Billy Petersen, all of Ute and Sharon and Norman Uhl of Crescent, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Viola Lundt of Danbury, Iowa; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Norma; four brothers and five sisters.
