WHITING, Iowa -- James L. "Buddy" Harvey, 77, of Whiting died Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at his son's residence in Whiting.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home in Sloan, Iowa, with the Rev. M. Suzanne Miller officiating. Burial will be in Hite Cemetery, Whiting. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Harvey was born Dec. 24, 1924, in Pisgah, Iowa, the son of Dick and Josie Alice (Thomas) Harvey. He attended school in Sloan.

He married Lola M. Morgan on Sept. 15, 1944, in rural Sloan. She died May 1, 1998.

He was a member of Evangelical Covenant Church in Sloan.

Survivors include four sons, Loyal and his wife, Kathy, of Whiting, DuWayne and his wife, Sue, of Sioux City, Milton "Ray" of Sloan, and Gaylord of Sheldon, Iowa; a daughter and her husband, Crystal and Randy Gulick of Whiting; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Eva Mae Harvey Nelson of Whiting and Patty L. Harvey Porter of Dwight, Kan.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; and infant son; and two brothers, Don and Cleo Harvey.
