ONAWA, Iowa - Vivian Fay Allen, 79, of Onawa died Monday, Jan. 3, 2000, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Whiting Church of Christ, with the Revs. Jeremy Hopkins and Rusty Hedger officiating. Burial will be in Harrison Cemetery, rural Whiting, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa.

Mrs. Allen was born April 4, 1920, in Courtland, Neb., the daughter of John LeRoy "Roy" and Eva Winifred (Yarnell) Miltenberger. She was raised in the Onawa area and graduated from Sloan (Iowa) High School in 1938.

She married Leland P. "Dode" Allen on Feb. 10, 1940, in Le Mars, Iowa.

She was a member of Whiting Church of Christ and Dorcas Society.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters and their husbands, Kathleen and Jerry Stoulp of Sloan, Julie and Mark Haindfield of Salix, Iowa, and Patricia and Walter Peterson of Prague, Neb.; nine grandchildren, Greg, Lisa and Ray Stoulp, Mark and Todd Peterson, Kelley Wirges and Matt, Ryan and Sarah Haindfield; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister and her husband, Virginia and Neils Jensen of Glidden, Iowa; and several nieces, nephew, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Shauna Haindfield; a great-granddaughter; and four brothers, Ralph, Wayne, Glenn and Herbert.
