11 January 1979Lifelong Rodney resident dies after lenghy illness
Mrs Hubert Nicholisen, 79, lifelong resident of Rodney, died Thursday, January 4, 1979 at a Minneapolis hospital after a lengthy illness.
Services were held Sunday at the United Church of Christ in Rodney. The Rev Everett Epperson officiated. Burial was in Grant Cemetery. Rebekah services were held at the funeral home.
Mrs Nicholisen, the former Anna Jensen, was born Jan 5, 1899, in Rodney. She graduated from Rodney High School and worked in the Rodney Savings Bank.
She was married Sept. 1, 1920, in Sioux City. The couple farmed in the Rodney vicinity until retiring in 1944. Mr Nickolisen died April, 30, 1973.
She was a member of the United Church of Christ and served on the church board. She was a 61-year member of Ember Rebekah Lodge 486.
Survivors include a son, Dr H.P of Sioux City: a daughter, Mrs James (Jane) Olson of New Hope, Minn: two sisters, Mrs Robert (Ellen) Rogers of Columbus, Ohio and Mrs Mark (Edna) Bancroft of Marcus; a brother, Bruce of Toms River, NJ; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren
