Hubert Nickolisen, 75, longtime farmer and cattlefeeder of Rodney, Iowa died on Monday, April 30, 1973 at a Sioux City Hospital after a long illness.

Mr Nickilisen was born April 13, 1898 at Rodney, the son of Mr and Mrs Nels Nickolisen. He was educated at the Rodney School. He married Anna Jensen on September 1, 1920 at Sioux City. He was a 47-year member of the 100F Lodge, a member of the Rebekah Lodge and the United Church of Christ at Rodney. He had served on the school and church boards for many years and also as a director on the Nagel Drainage District board.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Dr H P Nickolisen, of Sioux City; one daughter, Mrs James L (Jane) Olson of Minneapolis; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs Fred Rawlins of Las Vegas, New Mexico. One daughter died in infancy.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on May 3 at the United Church of Christ of Rodney. The Reverend Everett Epperson of Onawa officiated. Mrs A H Bruning of Mapleton was the organist.

Ushers were Maurice Jensen and Walt Mikkelson. Pallbearers were Miller Nickolisen, William Nickolisen, Max Nickolisen, Robert Nickolisen, Greg Yoder and Donald Butler.

Burial was at the Grant Township Cemetery.
