Sept. 10, 1917-Jan. 4, 2006Pearl E. Davis, 88 of Whiting, Iowa, formerly of Mapleton, Iowa, died Wednesday, January 4, 2006, at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting, Iowa.
Pearl was born September 10, 1917 in Grant Township, the daughter of Jorgen and Minnie (Hansen) Jensen. She attended country school and spent all of her life in the community.
On November 14, 1938, she married Ralph O. Davis in Monona County. The couple made their home near Rodney, Iowa. In 1985, they retired and moved to Mapleton. Ralph passed away December 3, 1985.
She was a member of the Rodney Ladies Aid Society. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, and loved doing crossword puzzles.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Jim and Karen Davis of Smithland, Iowa; four granddaughters, Kelly Bielenberg, Jill Kleckner and her husband, Kent, Kristi Huffman, and Janelle Prather and her husband, Shane; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Helen Maynard.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2006 at the Willman Funeral Chapel, Rodney, Iowa, with Pastor Karen Handke officiating. The organist was Patty Madsen and the soloist, Don Forney, sang the selections, "In The Garden" and "His Eye Is On The Sparrow".
Casket Bearers were Lewis Davis, Mike Davis, Louis Reed, Bill Hagerdon, Leonard Hanson and Wayne Kafton.
Interment was in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Mapleton, Iowa, with arrangements by Willman Funeral Home, Rodney, Iowa.
