ONAWA, Iowa -- Dorothy Crawford, 93, of Onawa died Saturday April 24, 2004, at Elwood Care Centre in Onawa.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church in Onawa with the Rev. Chuck Layton officiating. Burial will be in Belvidere Cemetery in Turin, Iowa. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.

Dorothy Emaline Cecelia was born Jan. 26, 1911, at Geneva, Neb., the daughter of Emil Joseph and Ida Grace (Deming) Eliason. She graduated from Clay Center (Neb.) High School in 1929.

She married Frank M. Crawford on Feb. 16, 1936, in Clay Center. The couple moved to Grant Center, Iowa, in 1940, and moved to rural Onawa in 1942. They moved to Soldier, Iowa, in 1948, then returned to Onawa in 1976 after they retired from farming. Frank died on Aug. 5, 1988.

She was a member of United Methodist Church in Onawa and an honorary member of United Methodist Women.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Blauw of Gilbert, Iowa; two daughters-in-law, Coleen Crawford of Soldier and Ann Crawford of Onawa; 12 grandchildren and their spouses, Diana and James Moeller, Judy and Dave Andersen, Brenda and Greg Ellingson, Annette and Jon Phares, Jenna and Brian Blake, Rena and Ken Payne, Amy and Lee Phelps, Ryan and Heidi Crawford, Jeremy and Laurie Crawford, Gina and Donnie Gray, Darin and Jenny Crawford and Cole and Trisha Crawford; 22 great-grandchildren; a brother and his wife, Jack and Rita Eliason of Sutton, Neb.; two brothers-in-law, Donald Crawford and his wife Betty of Merrill, Iowa, and Frank Krisl of Dakota City, Neb.; two sisters-in-law, Oudy Eliason of Sloan, Iowa, and Lois Treece of Boone, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, James and John; three brothers, Harold, Lawrence and Dick Eliason; and three sisters, Marion Holtz Thompson, Marjorie Hansen Krisl and Helen Burke.
