Ralph H. Goslar, age 87 of Ute, Iowa, died Friday, July 2, 2004 in Mapleton.

Memorial service was held 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 5 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ute with Pastor Ed Brandt officiating. Creta Teut was the organist for the service and Becky Marcum was the soloist. She sang, "In The Garden" and the congregation sang, "Amazing Grace" and "I Know That My Redeemer Lives". A prayer service was held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Armstrong Funeral Home in Ute.

Ralph Henry Goslar, son of Henry and Eunice (Lohmann) Goslar was born February 3, 1917 in Ute, Iowa. Ralph passed away Friday July 2, 2004 at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton.

Ralph married Mary Pauls on July 28, 1940. One son, Ralph Henry II (Nick) and one daughter, Cherie Eunice were born to this union.

Ralph graduated from Ute Consolidated School. He lived and farmed his entire life in the Ute community; was one of the first to introduce the Charolais breed of cattle to this area, sold and adjusted for several crop hail insurance companies, and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Ute.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Mary, of 63 years; son, Nick and Dolly Goslar of Ute, Iowa; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Lois Boggs of Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Betty and Ray Hobbs of Sioux City; a niece and three nephews.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Cherie and a nephew.

Arrangements were made under the direction of the Armstrong Funeral Home of Ute.
