Pearl Gollhofer Doll, age 79 of Onawa, Iowa, passed away Monday, January 5, 2004 at Burgess Health Center in Onawa.
Pearl was born March 19, 1924 near Charter Oak, Iowa, the daughter of August and Flora (Hufford) Gollhofer. She was raised in the Charter Oak area and graduated from Charter Oak High School in 1941. She earned a teaching certificate at Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls, Iowa and taught rural school in the Charter Oak area.

She married Earl Doll September 2, 1945 at Charter Oak and the couple made their home in Onawa since 1947. Pearl was employed 40 years by the City of Onawa as a Deputy Clerk and City Clerk.

She was an active member of First Christian Church, Onawa where she served in many capacities throughout the years.

Survivors include her husband, Earl of Onawa; two sisters-in-law, Sharon Gollhofer and Clara Gollhofer, both of Charter Oak; seven nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her twin brother, Earl; a brother, Charles and a sister, Lillian Schmidt.

Funeral services were 1:30 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2004 at First Christian Church in Onawa with Rev. Dennis Olsen officiating. Music selections were organ solos, "Precious Lord, Take My Hand" and "In The Garden" rendered by Ann Phillips, organist. Burial was 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Charter Oak Cemetery, Charter Oak, Iowa. Visitation was 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Rush Family Care Service, Onawa.

Casket bearers were Jerry Laffey, Stan Gollhofer, Bob Henderson, Vince Phillips, Jamie Murray and Clay Zellmer. Honorary bearer was Scott Gollhofer.
