Charlie Larson, 83, of Castana, Iowa, died on January 26, 1985, at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton, Iowa, following a long illness.

He was born near Turin, Iowa, on September 8, 1901, to Ole and Marie Mathison Larson. On July 2, 1925, he married Lella York in Lincoln, Nebraska. They lived on a farm in the Castana-Ticonic area where he had livedf since he was one year old. He was a member of the Ticonic United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Lella, at home; two sons, Darrell of Castana and Melvin of Wells, Minnesota; three daughters, Mrs Boyd (Eileen) Henry of Caldwell, Idaho, Mrs Evelyn Will of Sioux City, Iowa and Mrs Arthur (Melva) Wanamaker of Castana; 19 grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29, 1985 at the Ticonic United Methodist Church with Rev Dick Krambeck officiating. Mrs Elaine Krambeck, the organist, accompanied the soloist, Mrs Terri Reed.

Bearers were Louis Reed, Randy Larson, Brad Larson, Bruce Reed, Jerry Koenigs and Dave Rasmussen.

Interment was in the Grant Township Cemetery at Rodney, Iowa, with arrangements by the William Funeral Home, Rodney, Iowa.
