Harry Samuel Peterson, son of Ludwig and Sena Peterson was born June 20th, 1900 near Castana, Iowa and died on Saturday, May 2, 1970 at the Hartley Memorial Hospital after having reached the age of 69 years, ten months and 12 days.

He lived with his parents until his marriage to Mabel Carroll on May 24, 1921 at Mapleton, Iowa. This union was blessed with two daughters and three sons, They later farmed in the Ticonic and West of Grant Center for several years. In 1953 they moved into the town of Mapleton where he was a former school bus driver for the Mapleton Public School and later was employed by the Standard Oil Station in Mapleton until he retired.

Survivors include his wife, Mabel of Mapleton; two daughters, Mrs Vinton (Betty) Bouslaugh of South Gate, California and Mrs Eddie (Sharon) Peterson of Battle Creek, Iowa; 3 sons, Darrell, Vincent Peterson of LeMars, Iowa, Carlyle Ladean Peterson of Marcus, Iowa and Harry Duane Peterson of Randolph AFB, Texas; three sisters, Mrs Stella Grey of California, Mrs William (Johanna) Carroll of Blencoe, Iowa and Mrs Raligh (Agnes) Eller of Onawa, Iowa; three brothers, Alfred Peterson of Junction City, Kansas, Martin Peterson of Castana, Iowa and Delmer Peterson of Reseda, California and 15 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 4, 1970 at 1:30 p.m. at the Walter Funeral Chaple at Mapleton, Iowa with Rev Everett Epperson officiating.

Burial was in Grant Township Cemetery in Rodney, Iowa.

Pallbearers were Delbert Uhl, Charles Larson, Les Maynard, Donald Thiel, Gary Castle and Clifford Reed.
