CHEROKEE, Iowa - Janet E. Boock, 55, of rural Cherokee died Friday at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. There will be a family prayer service at 9:45 a.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday. Burial will be in Grant Township Cemetery in Rodney, Iowa. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. today, and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mrs. Boock was born March 12, 1944, at Mapleton, Iowa, the daughter of Wallace and Jane (Hinrickson) Kelsheimer. She graduated from Anthon High School in 1963. She had been a resident of the Cherokee area for the past five years and prior to this had lived in the Quimby area since 1968.

She was a Certified Nurses' Aid and had worked in several nursing homes including the Heartland Care Center at Marcus, Iowa.

She was a member of the Quimby Baptist Church and of the Single's Club.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Janice and Harold DeYoung of Primghar, Iowa; a son and his wife, Emil and Shawntel of Cherokee; seven grandchildren, Jonathan and Joelle DeYoung, Brandon, Billy, Kelsey, Nathan, and Caley Boock; her mother, Jane Meyer of Correctionville, Iowa; a nephew; and a special friend, Allen Schultz of Merrill, Iowa.
