Miss Katie Wagner died on Monday morning Feb. 19th, at the home of her half-sister, Mrs W. Hartleben in Cooper Township. Her death was caused from bronchial pneumonia, she having suffered with lung trouble for several years.

Katie Wagner was born at Comanche, this state in 1840, that being the year of the tornado, in which her father was killed. Her mother afterwards married August Lille, who had lost his wife in that same fateful storm. After removing to this county they made their home in Cooper Township for many years. After her mother's death, two or three years ago, she joined her brothers and sisters in Oregon where she has since made her home. She returned to Iowa last fall and has since visited among her relatives.

The funeral took place from the house on Wednesday afternoon the remains being buried in the family cemetery nearby.

~NOTE: The name engraved on the tombstone is Kittie Wagner. The birth year on the tombstone is engraved as 1860.
