ONAWA, Iowa - Pearl June Reed, 82, of Onawa died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2001, at a Omaha hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Christian Church in Onawa, with the Rev. Donald R. Ludwick officiating. Burial will be in Onawa Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at Rush Family Chapel in Onawa.

Mrs. Reed was born June 7, 1919, in Onawa, the daughter of James and Anna (Miller) Beedle. She was raised in the Onawa area and following her graduation, she taught country school for over four years.

She married Francis Miles Reed in 1940. She was employed with Moon's Store, Taylor's Clothing Store and Safeway.

She was a member of First Christian Church and American Legion Auxiliary. She served as president of Willing Workers Club and was a Girl Scout and Boy Scout leader.

Survivors include her husband; six children, Patricia, Larry, Carolyn, Reva, Lynn and Lori; 18 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
