LeMars, Iowa--Frank S Ernst, 76, of LeMars died Thursday in a hospital in Le Mars.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St James Catholic Church in LeMars with Monsignor Michael Sernett officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today with a rosary recited by the parish at 7:30 p.m. in Luedtke-Feuerstein Funeral Home.
Mr Ernst was born May 26, 1911, in Mapleton, son of Anton and Ellen Ernst. He attended school at Mapleton and moved to LeMars as a young man. He married Bernetta Wanderscheid Feb. 7, 1939 in LeMars. The couple farmed most of their married life in America Township, southeast of LeMars. They retired and moved into LeMars in 1976.
Mr Ernst was a member of St James Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Robert, Ronald and Dennis, all of LeMars; three sisters, Mrs Sophie Stodden and Mrs. Eveline Hoffman, both of LeMars and Mrs Paul (Ethel) Wanderscheid of Sioux City; a brother, Elmer Ernst of LeMars; four grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jess and Raymond; and a sister, Elsie
