ONAWA, Iowa -- Ruth L. Johnson, 59, of Onawa died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church in Onawa, with the Rev. Dennis Olsen officiating. Burial will be in Onawa Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.

Ruth was born June 28, 1943, in Onawa, the daughter of George and Josephine (Larson) Clapper. She married Robert Mortenson in 1959 in Onawa. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include four sons, Michael Mortenson and his wife, Carolyn of Sioux City, Jeff Mortenson of Onawa, Danny Mortenson and Richard Klein and his special friend, Tonya of Kingsley; two daughters, Jennifer Klein of Onawa, and Tammy Klein; three grandchildren, Austin, Tyler and Richard Klein Jr.; a sister, Georgia Martin of Onawa; and a brother, Jim Clapper of Worthington, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Doris Schafer; and a brother, George Jr.
