Former Onawa Business Women Dies in Calif.

Miss Katherine Beck, 1149 S. Stoneman, Alhambra, Calif, died Tues., Sept 14th in a local convalescent hospital after a long illness.
She was born Sept. 23, 1879, in Iowa. She lived in Onawa, Iowa where she owned and operated a women's ready-to-wear shop for 30 years. She moved to Pomona to retire and owned and operated apartments there until two years ago.

She had been at the convalescent hospital for several months. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Miss Beck would have been 92, Sept. 23rd.
She is survived by two brothers, WIlliam and Herman, both of Alhambra; and two sisters, Mrs. Josephine Dunn of Pomona and Mrs. Mary McGinn of Phoenix, Arizonia.

Rosary was recited at 8 in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Requiem Mass was celebrated Thursday Sept. 16th at 9 a.m. in the church. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Todd Memorial Chapel, Pomona was in charge of arrangements.
