TURIN, Iowa -- Gerald "Dave" Davis, 73, of Turin died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2002, at his residence.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Turin United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Chuck Layton officiating. Burial will be in Kennebec Cemetery, near Castana, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. conducted by Vesper Lodge 223 A.F. & A.M., all at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa.

Gerald was born June 18, 1929, in Castana, the son of Watson and Irene (Carroll) Davis. He attended Castana Public School and graduated in 1946. He was a lifelong farmer.

He married Dona Gray on Feb. 18, 1951, in Onawa.

He was a member of Turin United Methodist Church since 1940, Vesper Lodge 223 A.F. & A.M. of Onawa, Sioux City Consistory, Sioux City Abu Bekr Shrine, Queen Esther Chapter 222 Order of the Eastern Star of Onawa, where he served as a past Patron in 1962. He also was a past Master of Hillcrest Lodge 648 A.F. & A.M. of Castana.

Survivors include his wife, Dona; a daughter and her husband, Janet and Roy Wakehouse of Onawa; two granddaughters, Christina and her husband, Keith Timm of Thornton, Colo., and Cherlynn Wakehouse of Ames, Iowa; a brother and his wife, Clifford and JoAnn of Manhattan Beach, Calif.; and a special uncle, Chester Carroll of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gordon.

Memorials may be directed to the Abu Bekr Children's Transportation Fund or Turin United Methodist Church.2002
